WHAT A MILESTONE !!!

Ok.. So it HAS been two months - and although I have been unbelievably busy I did do some thinking on how I was going to revive this dust-filled blog. I even thought of leaving for dead. However, (YES there is a "however") the final decision is to make this blog a blog of Arts & Events. In other words, you can get all the events (if I get the photos) I am either take part in or events I attend.

As for the Arts I am launching a list of my own personal "top ten hits" kinda thing. It will be called "Joe's Decatunes" !!! (Deca - meaning ten). Joe's Decatunes would basically be a list of ten songs that has been playing in my head for the last few days. The song MAY NOT be new songs but trust me it will be great lah !!! The songs just get you in the mood - any mood, whether you wanna dance or just sit doing nothing =). Hope YOU guys can check 'em out yea.. and lemme know how it goes.

Also to come on later another list on other artsy stuff (eg: movies, the last cd's I bought, etc)

Just For Laughs

Just for a little laughter..
Here is the difference between boys and girls when they are young :
Well, you guys know that although I am a home-schooler, I go to school rather often - So take that as the setting.

At lunch time, I was siting on a chair. When I knew it was one of the (9-year old) girl's chair, I was about to get up but before I could give her the chair she told me, "No.. no.. nevermind. You sit lah". She continued playing with her friends..

Another time during lunch, I was sitting on a chair. This time it was a chair I had taken myself. A young (10-year old) boy come behind me and clears his throat," ahemm.. ahem..". I couldn't believe how rude it was. But I had to remind myself that he was 10.

However way we look at it.. we could've expected the respective re-action from the boy and from the girl.. haha.. I thought that really represents what we sometimes think of the different gender when they're young..

Back to Basics

Well, my extremely deepest apologies to the extreme few who have been following my blog. It has been quite a while and I am sincerely sorry. =P

Anyway, Bethany Chapel had its inaugural Annual Assembly Meeting where we launched our new theme, "The Real Deal - in pursuit of Authentic Christianity" on the 31st of May 2009. In my own life, I think sometimes its always a struggle to always hold on to what the Bible says. We always feel the Bible was only relevant 2000 years ago.. *RINGS BUZZER* that's the wrong answer !! -God never changes and the Bible's God's word.. Amen ?

If most of you might not had known, I've been home-schooling at home this year, instead of the center I used to go to. However, since April I have been sort of working there as a supervisor/helper.. It has been an absolute blast. I was basically handling the kids from the ages of 6-13. But one thing I realized that even at a very young age, the kids could tell if you're joking with them or when you are actually really giving good advice. (In home-schooling, there are a lot of ways to strategize your work.) And they are CHILDREN !!

As Christians, (sorry to say.. but especially Asians), like Dad always says, we always want to "save face". We are too embarrassed about our problems and sometimes even our testimonies !!! How we live our lives SHOULD have a strong impact others. We got to start believing that. And believe that strong conviction ! The problem is we are so afraid of impacting others negatively that we don't even attempt to uplift, encourage and impact each other positively. Remember we have a mandate, and if we believe in living a REAL LIFE, and having the conviction we're walking everyday with a REAL GOD.. "pastikan kau akan berbuah" !! (-Yesus Pokok dan kita cabangnya)

C'mon guys, isn't it sad to be on the brink of revival (The Promise Land) and never be able to get there ?? Unfortunately, I look at the things I see in churches today, we're heading towards that. Let us not be like those 8 Israelite spies who saw big giants in Jericho.. I want to be a Joshua or a Caleb, who were Real People who could see a Real God conquering the Promised Land !!

I wanna be..

Handle With Care

Well, this afternoon while I was performing duties with SPARK, I was teaching the King's Kidz about how we,as God's children, are to make Him happy by taking very good care of what he has made and given us.

Then later at night we went to church for Uncle Bob's appreciation dinner. Then I found myself in a situation. I had to do what I had taught. As the thinnest needle on my watch hit 8:29, I was quietly counting the 60 seconds left till we to switch off our lights for the "Earth Hour". Yes, so Bethany Chapel did participate in Earth Hour and I am somewhat proud of that (the furthest we went). But when I went out (to see all the lights off) people were doing things as usual and you wouldn't have guessed that "Earth Hour" was going on.

Sadly, Malaysians just don't get this "saving the world thing". The "I", "Me", and "Myself" is, unfortunately, very much apart of the culture. (That's why it's not hard to find an unflushed toilet..) Oma is down and she was out for dinner. Her hosts told her that "a Chinese businessman would never off the lights to inconvenience his business". Typical yet sad.

As a Christian, I always must tell myself that whatever happens. I am a Christian FIRST and foremost. I am a Christian student. I am a Christian Malaysian. I am also a Christian Indian or Chindian. That shows that even our "Chinese" or racial "culture"/"beliefs" should come second when it comes to what God wants us to do.

Red and Yellow; Black, and White - All Are Precious In His Sight

I managed to catch "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" yesterday and I must say that it was extremely worth it. One of the better movies I have personally caught in theaters in the recent past. Acting was probably a 7 over 10 but make-up a 9.8 over 10. Brilliant. As I was watching the movie, I was looking out for clues on how the move would end. You could never tell as the movie went on. One thing I really found interesting about it was that the whole movie surrounding significant events in American History : The movie started with World War 1 and entire mid-plot surrounded World War 2 and the movie ended with Hurricane Katrina. Yet amidst all that chaos (for those who saw the movie) how did the movie end ?

Yup, it ended with Benjamin speaking about all the people he had met along the unusual life he had had. One of the closing quotes by Benjamin Button recalled the range of people he had met throughout his life :
"Along the way you bump into people who make a dent on your life. Some people get struck by lightning. Some are born to sit by a river. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim the English Channel. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people can dance."

Sometime in life we don't always get to be the person we want to be or be with a certain group that we always thought we would "fit in" but I have learnt that whenever God has put us at whatever point of our life, we were made to make an impact.

In my favourite sitcom "The Cosby Show" there was this quote, "There is not one person that cannot be influence either positively or negatively. Our job is to stress the positive." As Christian we not only have to influence the world positively with our actions and words but we have influence the world spiritually. What we do or say maybe the only thing between eternal life and death for some people who would never ever get the chance to hear the gospel. Their only gospel - US !!

So What ?

The Teen Scene Committee
2004-2008

What has been the biggest changes in 2009 ? Well, of course I'm now home-based-homeschooling right now and we all know who's the new Commander-In-Chief in the U.S.A. But I 'd like to share one of the biggest change that took place for me.

The Teen Scene Committee was officially passed on to a younger generation in our church. Also, Bethany Chapel has changed its Sunday School a.k.a. King's Kidz and Teen Scene from the usual Sunday 11:15 time slot to Saturday at 4 p.m. Therefore, I took a chance, prayed, and proposed an idea for the King's Kidz. It was actually Aunty Sue's(Sham) idea to have like a "mini group" (something like a "Hi-5" or a "Barney and Friends" kind of thing without the big puppet) to lead in some activities before children break into classes. So the idea was accepted and I spoke to Joanne and Colin who both also was left without a ministry after we had left our posts in the Teen Scene Committee. They accepted this new ministry and I was really glad they did. So we came together, prayed several times, even had a practice at our camp and then we came up with the name "SPARK", although we also act as the King's Kidz Resource Team.

And the Lord provided us with the many things we have needed so far. Jason, the unofficial member of SPARK has helped us tremendously with the technical stuff and of course, Eu-Gene, Damien and the rest of Bethany Chapel who has been so supportive to this small ministry. Thanks a heap !!! So What ? I just want to encourage those who are without a ministry in the church, maybe not only mine, but even in another church - God has given us at least one spiritual gift. It's our job to see to it that it is being used for his glory. I have never felt so comfortable in any other ministry that I have ever worked in although I did have a great time working in the Teen Scene Committee. But I must say that it was pretty much God putting me where I am in HIS timing.

To Colin and Joanne, I hope you guys will continue to shine for His Glory. Thank a lot so far and I hope you are as excited as I am or at least one day will be. Gos bless you both !!!

We've Only Just Begun

It's been a really good year at Klang Jaya Gospel Hall. In fact, its been a really good ten years at Klang Jaya Gospel Hall. I thank God for every second I have spent in my home church where I have grown since I was 8. Why do I sound like I'm leaving KJGH ??

Well, I'm proud to announce, in my blog, that on the 1st of January Klang Jaya Gospel Hall officially became autonomous from Klang Gospel Hall and we officially changed our name to"Bethany Chapel". As most of you who read our 10th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet, you would have known that when we were in Klang Gospel Hall, we were actually a cell group of about 25 called "Bethany". Hence the constant "fondness" with the name Bethany.

Blame it on Taboo

Here's the story:

After church, last Sunday (28/12/2008), we went to my grandmother's house to play some games. We reached there about 12.45 and then started to play Cranium for 1 and a half hours. Then we started playing "Taboo" as in not in groups but altogether. We played a couple of round and then came my turn, and I got this card..

and I said,"Which is the only stop on the way to Fraser's Hill ?" and although Dad and Grandma was quiet, Aunty Jo answered "GAP !!". Dad looked at Aunty Sue.. Both had a sense of excitement in their eyes. Uncle Tjeri was a little confused at what was happening.. and then Aunty Jo caught the excitement from her two siblings (my dad and Aunty Sue) and then, Dad almost shouting excitement, "Aiya, should had gone to Fraser's Hill" and Aunty Jo, Aunty Sue and Grandma couldn't had agreed more. The clock struck 3.

So about fifteen minutes we were all talking about what could we had experienced if we thought of going to Fraser's earlier. We had settled to the fact that we couldn't book a hotel for holiday during Aunty Jo and Uncle Tjeri's stay here since we had asked earlier. So I kind of pushed my dad into calling the hotel in Fraser's instead of just fantasizing about what could've been. Then, dad called a Ms. Nalini from Shahzan Inn. The phone was put to loudspeakers. Ms. Nalini said there were exactly 3 room left for one night and she said she'll keep it for us if we wanted it. We couldn't believe our ears. Dad was almost shivering. Aunty Sue had that"ooooo-it's- going-to-be-exciting" face and Aunty Jo was asking Dad to book it on the spot, while Grandma (the cutest of them all) was crossing her fingers the whole time, hoping that we'll get the rooms.

Dad put down the phone and called Mom who was at home waiting for a meeting which was suppose to start at 4p.m. in our house. Mom said "OK.. I'll have the meeting while you all pack upstairs and after the meeting we'll leave" and Dad proceed to call Ms. Nalini again to book the 3 rooms and that we'll be there in about 4 hours. Dad and I rushed home from Grandma's house, packed our stuff, even had time to go to the bank to withdraw some money while waiting for Mom to finish her meeting.

So at 5 we went back to Grandma's house, picked Aunty Jo, Uncle Tjeri, Aunty Sue AND Grandma and were off to FRASER'S HILL !!!!!!!!!!!! On the way, the whole time I was thinking,"This all happened because of TABBOO !!" It was really refreshing and the whether was so good even if it was only 24 hours. Here are the pics..

The Greatest Masquerade

As Christmas has passed, we remember the greatest gift.. eternal life. On the 21st of December, we had a Masquerade Party in church !! It was really fun. But in the end f the day, we portrayed that the story of Jesus was the Greatest Masquerade ever. He put on the mask of humanity and had to become human to save us all. And when he cried "It is FINISHED" the mask fell off, he was no more human and rose from death. So here are the interesting pics from the Masquerade party we had in church :

Never Too Late

Ok. Well, as we all know, December is and always will the busiest month of the year. On the 5 of December, Klang Jaya Gospel Hall moved to Port Dickson for 4 days. Our Camp, themed : War of the Worlds, started on the 5th and completed on the 8th. I have not got the pics from Eu-Gene (who is taking ages to upload the pics.. jkjk). Since it was "War of the Worlds", the group names were : Vulcan(taken from StarTrek), Krypton (taken from Superman), Zork (taken from Calvin and Hobbes) and my group, Naboo (taken from Star Wars) !! So well, here's just a preview of the Naboo's skit and Zork's skit during the evangelistic meeting. I'll try to post the pics and the other two skits As Soon As Possible... WARNING : ZORK'S SKIT MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE LAUGHTER !!

A Good Sigh..

So.. 4 days of holidays to Kuantan/Cherating/Kemaman.. Was it enough ?? We'll have to wait and see then. Where did we go ? We stayed at the Swiss-Garden Resort and Spa at Kuantan since we are members of Swiss-Garden International. The first day was rather simple but the second day was filled with going to places. We went to Kemaman for brunch.. visited the Turtle Sanctuary in Cherating and the Batik Village in Kuantan. The third day was a day to chill at the hotel itself.. The Swiss-Garden Resort in Lumut was slightly better but Kuantan's really nice too. The highlights on the third day were meeting an Irish man on the beach because he had 2 extremely adorable ST. BERNARDS !!!!!!!! We also had a special buffet dinner on the third day since it was Dad and Mum's 21st Wedding Anniversary. The dessert was the best array I've ever tried for a buffet. Here are the pics..

Although they were mute and deaf..
they never hesitated to smile and communicate when we walked in..

These were the special equipment the used..
Did you know that Batik is made by drawing or painting wax on an outline or pattern..
Then, soaking it in paint or paint a colour over the outline or pattern..
So it wasn't surprising that the whole place smelt of wax..

The special "pencils" were used to draw in details with the wax..

Grandpa Eric incorporated these wine bottles in the wall of the front of the church..
It was said to be so beautiful years ago when the sun
could come through them in the mornings..
But now that other buildings have been built behind the church..
The bottles have seen better years..

All the desserts were scrumptious..
By the way..
I had 19 course of buffet round..
Oops.. *feeling guilty*
Hahaha..
Anyway, the rest of the dessert I had were :

Do-It-Yourself Ice-cream (of-course)

Senior Year

I'm officially no longer a full-time student of Grace Resource Center, Klang. =( It was my last day on Friday but I've got to say that I had 6 years of experience that I don't think I could have got if I had been anywhere else. Here's dedicated to GRC, Klang. Awards Nite and the Last day pics :

I manage to sneak my last individual Award..
I got the 3rd highest percentage in tests among all 10-12th graders
of GRC PJ, USJ and Klang.

Just a King's Kid

It's over !! The King's Kidz Year is closed.. I know, I know - another post about Klang Jaya Gospel Hall but the only reason why I write about my church particularly is simply because I really see God working in our midst and this Kig's Kidz Year has been one of the biggest highlight of my entire life. It has been a great privilege and an even greater privilege to serve my King of Kings and Lord of Lords in the Kings Kidz ministry this year.(I taught the Standard 5 & 6 class with Aunty Beng Hong and Kel Vin)

I had the opportunity to serve in the King's Kidz although still in the Teen Scene Committee which was difficult although an opportunity I could never miss. I thank God for opening that door and showing me how both of us could enjoy this gift he has graciously given me. I feel humbled and blessed to be able to serve Him through this particular ministry. I pray that I will continue to be a tool in His hands for His kingdom in the King's Kidz.. (If you want to read about the first time I taught my King's Kidz Class, click here)

So why is it (the King's Kidz year) done ?? The school-hols' are here !!!! So The King's Kidz and Teen Scene closed the year with a Prize-Giving Day themed," All the Children of the World" (International Nite). Of course this was my first time giving away the prizes instead of receiving them like how I usually do.. Haha.. Here are the pictures - once again courtesy of Uncle(for King's Kidz) Eu-Gene :

Oh Well.. It's been one incredible month.. Our church (Klang Jaya Gospel Hall) celebrated it's proud 10th Anniversary. It was the first time we celebrated such a thing in such a big scale. The theme was taken from Isaiah 12:5 - "Sing for joy to the Lord; for He has done gloriously". So, the whole celebration was based on what God has done and not the usual "Our church is now two shop-lots" or "we've got *** amount of people now compared to our 2* when we started" kind of thing. So It was really a blessed time to just experience the whole Anniversary even for a person like me who was there ever since 1998. For those of you who went, wasn't it a great blast !!! ( I intentionally left out our "Cardboard Testimonies Photos" as I'm waiting for the video) For those of you who could not come *for the service*, you just should've been there- you missed on something really special. The dinner was more informal but the service was practically the main-course. Hahaha.. I felt that you just didn't even need to be a church member to get the testimonies or anything that happen- since we all share similar experiences as Christians and the same God. Indeed, I'm so proud of my church as we see God moving and letting Him have the Highest Place. He HAS done gloriously.. and He will continue to do so. Walking with Jesus

Remember that old Sunday School song that goes..

"Waling with Jesus,
Walking everyday,
Walking all the way,
Walking with Jesus,
Walking with Jesus alone.." ??

Well, what happened was the other day in church, after a meeting, Dad was recommending a job to one of the young adults in our church,"

"Ey, why don't you try to do ----------- ??"
"Uncle Chan (that's what the youth and young adults call my dad for Uncle Chandran), I've tried that before lah. It's a tough business you know.."
"But the last time you tried, you didn't have the Lord"
And without hesitation, this young adult replied," With God, - can do anything. Why not ?"

I was taken aback.. Such faith.. Going back home, I remembered those words ("With God -can do anything. Why not ?") So simple, almost in Malaysian accent.. yet so thought provoking.. Faith like a child.. Faith as big as a mustard seed.. This "Koko" had just been a Christian not very long ago.. Yet he knew that if you put something in God's hands, nothing can go bad with it.

Amazing..
May our faith be strengthened as we look forward to the day He returns !!

The BIG Difference

I am currently reading "Why Revival Tarries" by Leonard Ravenhill, as you would have concurred looking at the side of my blog. An although this book is really really really old (1959 !!!), after reading the first three chapters, I believe this book applies TODAY more than it ever has !!! The quote on the top of this is appropriately placed in the first chapter just to give us a glimpse of the main ingredient of revival, PRAYER. Well, Klang Jaya Gospel Hall started our weekly prayer meeting last Thursday. As many would have guessed, this is a direct result from the fantastic Bible-study series, "When God's People Pray", that our church went through. Exciting isn't it ?? We, Christians, should continue to pray not only that more and more people get saved but also, that those saved would have a fresh faith and fall in a deeper relationship with God on a daily basis !! Then, and only then can every single one of God's child burn for him. I know I'd love it if I knew people were praying that for me and/or my church.. Wouldn't you ??

Like a Funeral

Can we lose our salvation ? Is Jesus Coming.. Really Soon ? This were the questions to be answered. It was too "devastating" to believe it. It was one of those things that never even occurred in the world of imagination. You know how sometimes in a meal or with friends and sometimes someone suggest something that is totally out of the blue and know its obviously not going to happen, then someone within the group comments,"The day that happens, Jesus is coming". That is excactly how it was.

Our family visited Godpa and Godma's house and we met Koko Jason (Lee) and Che che Susan there. While Dad was sitting on the piano stool, Koko Jason told Dad,"You know what happened to Ray Boltz ah ?" And Dad replied," No. What ?" "He divorced his wife of 33 years and is now living with a man (in other words, gay)!!!"Koko Jason said. I can't remember my dad's expression, but he was almost in a daze, and so was I since I had overheard the conversation and went across the room to find out more.

My dad and I have googled it up and as devastating as it is, it's true. Thus, the couple of questions in the beginning of the post. A man who wrote songs like, "Thank You", "Watch the Lamb", "I Pledge Allegiance To The Lamb", "The Perfect Tree", "The Potter's Field" and many many more songs with Spirit-inspired-lyrics, Ray Boltz has indeed shocked the world probably even more than Pastor. Mike Guglielmucci. "How pathetically sad, depressing and devastating. And that's an understatement" said one of the comments on the message boards containing the article.

I really do not know how to end this post. This news has come as a shock to me to the least. It just gets me thinking if these are really signs of Jesus' coming and that we probably can lose our salvation. Let band up and pray for the Prodigal Son who has yet to come back home after leaving, Ray Boltz.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Jesus paid for your freedom “from” sin, but He never wanted it to be used as a freedom “to” sin. We love you Ray and we are praying for you. Please come back home.

When the does the word or name Caesar come to mind ?.. An Emperor in a white robe ? My cousin even said salad.. Haha.. But well, Caesar's the dog ( actually a puppy) my grandmother brought back from Malacca. This puppy isn't the cutest of them but everytime I look at it, I always think what it is probably thinking. Every morning, when I wake up it gives me this most "poorthing" look which is sooooooo amazingly irressitable.

But you know, it was probably yesterday or today that got me thinking that, "Hey, the same person that made Caesar also made me !!!" Amazing isn't it that God would be so creative ? I thought this simple post would be a bit refreshing especially to all pet owners out there.. Hehehe..

I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be now,

Three simple lines played such a heavy role in a movie released in Malaysia during last weekend. The highly anticipated,"Camp Rock" of course. Today thousands of pre-teens and teenagers and the usual few 'hip' adults sing this song heartily. Yet, looking at this three lines, reflects on our daily lives, isn't it ?? Mitchie, a daughter of a simple chef/cook tries to colour her life in the movie by explaining to her "new" friends that she comes from a rich family and having a fabulous life. (Of course getting into some mess during the movie.) But as my post ," Are You a Dark Night ?" had already challenged, I hope to challenge again to every single Christian reading this post," How much of us a real (with family, friends and especially God) ?"

I'm glad to testify that going through the month of August was a real delight. Klang Jaya Gospel Hall had gone through a great series of messages during our 5 Sunday services on the vital church issues. Moreover, my church had gone through a Bible Study series called,"When God's People Pray" by Pastor Jim Cymbala from Brooklyn Tabernacle Church which was inspiring to say the least. Overall, we really experienced a real breakthrough in our church last month and hopefully in my life as I see the fruit in the long-hall.

As the buzz of Batman is spread out, I can't help thinking of my favourite Batman movie previously "Batman Returns" and if you remember the villain was "the Penguin" played by Danny DeVito. As I opened one of my books a quote of 'the Penguin' from the movie was written on the page after the cover. This was the quote:

"You're just jealous because I'm a real freak !!..

and you have to wear a mask"

As I thought I picked up a Christian book, it was weird finding a quote of the penguin in such a prominent place in the book. I flipped to the front cover and the book was titled, " Live like a Jesus Freak". So it kinda got me thinking: how much of a freak are we for Him or are we wearing a mask just because "we're not ready" to be freaks ? Let's face it being a freak ain't nice. But what, then, makes us different ? It's the essence of the Christian Life : Living Differently. But its our choice how much different we actually wanna be.. I want to be a freak and I want to be real - which would make me a real freak !! That's the way we can "carry our crosses" and the only way we actually suffer for Christ is to be a freak. Hahaha.. Yup, you heard me.. BE A FREAK.. LIVE FOR JESUS.. and LIVE IT TO THE MAX..

Funny or is it ?...

Funny how a $100 "looks" so big when you take it to church, but so small when you take it to the mall.

Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at church is, but how short they are when watching a movie.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

Funny how we get thrilled when a football match goes into extra time, but we complain when a sermon is longer than the regular time.

Funny how hard it is to read a chapter in the Bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back seat at church services.

Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a church event
into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.

Funny how hard it is for people to learn a simple gospel well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.

Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or think, or say, or do anything.

Dad and Mum was going for the Osmonds concert and then Dad was lloking through some of the "Donnie and Marie Show" clips on Youtube. Somehow, we ended up being obsessed on the "Carol Burnett Show" videos. Some of you younger people might remember Carol Burnett as "Miss Hanekien" on Annie the Musical or "the Queen" on Disney's Once upon a Mattress. She had her own show with her two "buds" Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. The three of them make a hilarious team. Its clean, hilarious and on my blog :

Why Me ??

Then, on the 30th of May, my Klang Jaya Folks ( The Teen Scene ) came to Cameron Highlands for our Teen Scene Leadership Retreat themed : RRRIIIINNNGG !!! WAKE UP !! I'm sure God taught many of us in so many different ways. As we're preparing for our Teen Scene Fest, may the Lord nourish us with divine strength and may we see the fruit of our plants that God waters.
Lastly and more importantly, may we see our youths grow in numbers, in maturity and in unity for His Great Kingdom. Here's our pics :

I'm back in Klang energized after the fresh air I had in Cameron Highlands.. hehe.. Well, I'll have to go one-by-one if you want me to explain my 9-day stay at Camerons. Firstly let me say that it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful going back there. (Oh the memories !!) So we were there first for a youth camp - The Klang Gospel Hall Youth Fellowship Youth Camp themed "The Sure Return" which Dad was speaker. It was a great being back with friends that I grew up with. So it was exciting and great in the way God worked. Here's some some pics :

It's the holidays.. And I'm back here at Cameron Highlands.. It's so not me to write such a short post but its so far been a wild ride - the holidays.. God's been good in putting everything in order.. And even here in Camerons, He's been preparing me for the big "Teen Scene Fest" coming up on June 14.. the "trials", the "tribulations", the "sorrow", and even the "fun", "laughter" and the "friends".. God's been good. By the way, we're ( my family and i ) here because Dad was speaking at the Klang Gospel Hall Youth Camp from 24-27 May and we're gonna be here till The Teen Scene Leadership retreat's over - it starts on the 30th of May and ends on the 1st of June. I'll have to blog more when I come back. Thre's soooooooooo much to blog about. Just the KGH Youth Camp was so fantastic in the way God worked. Hehe.. But I'll have to curi some pictures from Bimbo and the others la k ?? Hahaha.. Hope everyone's doing fine in Klang !! God been goo so far and all glory to him..

It Only Takes 2..

IT ONLY TAKES 2 WEEKS !! For what ? for my the physical part of life go up and down, up and down.. Here's just what happened in the last 2 weeks.. Amazing - how many emotions were produced !!

1. 27 April - Manchester United lost to Chelsea 1-2 in probably the most controversial match of the season. Carrick's unintentional "handball" gave Chelsea, the bullies, an unjust penalty on the 84th minute !!

2. 29 April - GRC Klang (my center/school) took silver medal for a second consecutive year. Our team name was "Scoring Station" (Don't ask why) It was indeed frustrating here's how it all went down:

1st Game

Scoring Station 7-1 Pj Team

It was an absolute joy to play in this game.

Dex with a hattrick and David and myself adding a brace each.

2nd Game

Scoring Station 14-0 Grace United

I think it was an even greater joy playing in this game as I put 5 goals in.

Dex and David also scored hattricks each.

Ian, Joshi and Brandon put in the 3 other goals.

3rd Game ( Q-Finals)

We knew this (Suspense) team was one of the strongest team

in the competition. We managed to

shug them off in the dying seconds of the match.

David scored the winner as Dex and I netted the other 2 goals.

Scoring Station 2-2 Clock

Scoring Station won 2-0 on penalties

Clock was the defending champions who beat us in the final last year.

They were leading twice as we equalized the same number of times.

David and Dex scored the two goals during the match.

But when it came to penalties Joshi and I stepped

to the plate to put our team through to the final.

Talk of "revenge". We do have an "interesting" relationship with them.

But I believe both team have their respect for each other.

By this time we THOUGHT we were cruising.

5th Game (Final)

Scoring Station 3-6 Roti Boom

It's sometimes quite devastating when you think you lost to a team

that could actually call themselves "Roti Boom".. Sigh !!

But all's well. Everyone played for their lives.

It just was only enough for another silver medal.

God knows our time.

"There's always next year"-

the only thing people can say to encourage us.

But its still more of the passion, I think that will bring us through.

3. 30th April - Manchester United defeat Barcelona to take themselves in to there 2nd Champions League Final in 10 years.

4. 30th April - Simon Cowell seemed groggy with his comments. David Archuleta and Syesha was the best two as usual (in my books). Jason was a wild bore.. Get it ?? Hahaha.. Brooke was "OK" with her second song that totally covered up her horrific first and as usual David Cook was a madman shouting his head off.. Hahaha.. and not to mention the letters "AC" on his jacket and guitar that stood for "Anti-Chr*st". Sigh. Ain't the devil clever ??!! That reminded me of Cliff Richard's song,"Why Should The Devil Get All The Good Music ?"

4. 1st May - Syesha Mercado narrowly escapes elimination on American Idol much to my extreme disappointment. Jason Castro should had gone home but instead he was the first one
saved. My poor Brooke who deserved to stay on for at least one more week went home.

5. 3rd May - Sent Aunty Jo to the airport as she left for America, her home now. Her flight was at 8:45 a.m. and she had to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. What time did I wake up ?? You do the Math.

6. 3rd May - Manchester United thumped West Ham United 4-1 with my Ronnie scoring a wonderful brace. Nani : NO COMMENT. Sir Alex would/should deal later.

7. 4th May - Fundraiser in church for the upcoming event, Teen Scene Fest, that would be a MASSIVE THING this year !!

8. 5th May - The team off bullies (Chelsea) beat Newcastle in a really poor second-half Newcastle show. Now United just have to beat Wigan to retain their title and take revenge on the bullies like Drogba, Ballack, Terry Lampard, A. Cole, Mikel, ( Ok.. the list goes on and on but you just can't like Chelsea players - none off them are nice). And also remain calm for the trip to Moscow. Hopefully no bribes would be taken as you know there's a certain Moscow resident who's the 3rd richest man in Moscow that links Chelsea to all their "fake success". Sigh.

That's my life in the physical sense in the last 2 weeks.

Sometimes when I hear songs like this, it tickles me because it reminds me that I'm only living in "ONLY the world". So great is our God that he even creates a place called heaven, isn't it ? I've always loved the idea of heaven ever since I was young. The very thought of it is so joyous. Listening to Uncle Soo-Inn last weekend really helped me realize at least one thing about heaven when he said,"Sometimes on earth not all our relationships (with fellow Christians) go the way we would like it to go -well, that's one reason for heaven!!" This really gave me some kind of a boost, looking back at my life outside church and home and since I've been going through some kind of a "rough patch". Although sometimes, it seems down ,I have to remind myself -its ONLY THE WORLD.It's so good just thinking bout it. By the way for those of you who have been wandering what song this is , "Only The World" is a single released by American Idol 2006 Top 7 Mandisa, whose Gospel singing career is flourishing in the U.S.

Ever since I was young Sunday School has always been one of the highlights of the weeks. Up until today, I always boast that I can still remember every single Teacher I had in order. Well where might I be going with this post you may ask ??

On Sunday was the first time I taught a King's Kids class all by myself. I actually co-assistant teacher with Kel Vin to Aunty Beng Hong for the Standard 5 and 6 class (biggest class in the King's Kids). And believe me, Aunty Beng Hong is an extremely fantastic Sunday School teacher. I should know - she taught me in Standard 2 and 4, I thoroughly enjoyed her lessons. Even sometimes when I sit in the class (as assistant) seeing her teach and observing children's re-action, I still enjoy her lessons.

However, Aunty Beng Hong was not around during this particular week and so happen Kel Vin wasn't around either. Ohloi !! So I was "All By Myself" *in Celine Dion's tune* Hahaha.. The story I taught was The Parable of the Three Friends taken from Luke. It was a backfire. The story itself was about trust and patience in God through persistent prayer. Without anyone there to help me teach a class of 20 11 and 12 year olds, it was time to trust God myself not just to teach that. I had to follow a Sunday School Teaching Material. And according to the material, I had to explain and eventually ask them if any of them wanted to ask Jesus into their lives.

You won't believe it 5 of then gave their lives !!! Please pray for Kathrina, Alice, Nicholas, Arvin and Rajendran who gave their lives to Jesus on the 6th of April. Thank God for Fantastic Teachers who have taught me along the way that even today when I teach my King's Kidz class I try to copy them here and there 'coz they are still really a big help even today. Just like a football player becoming a manager, I imagine. Hehehe..

Taming the Tiger

I had attended the Taming the Tiger Rally in Klang. Boy, Tony Anthony blessed so many people, I believe, including me !! He had such a powerful testimony. I couldn't of completing my post without leaving you with his testimony. It's just amazing !! Would like your take and what you all think of his story. :

Raised in China, Tony was trained in the way of Kung Fu. His upbringing, barren of love and severe in discipline, pushed him to harsh extremes until he excelled in the art of his heritage, becoming a World Champion ‘master’ in martial arts and a highly proficient combat fighter. In his early twenties Tony worked as a body guard, travelling the world with some of the world’s richest, most powerful people. ONLY a Sultan

Before I start my post, I just want to wish Dr. A. Xavier Jayakumar, dad of my good friend, Dev, a very big congratulations on winning the state seat in Sri Andalas (where I stay) and then, becoming an exco member in the state of Selangor.

So today, during lunch, Dev was talking about his dad's swearing-in that took place at the palace on Monday (yesterday). The amount of preparation just to see the Sultan was so.. so.. so.. I don't know where to start !!! Dev was slapping us with the whole list of rules and regulations (protocol) to see the Sultan : you must where a songkok, you must where black clothing, you must kiss the Sultan's hand before stepping away, you must never show your back, when walking away walk backward to avoid showing your back, you must bow down with your your hands together several time (I lost count how many times) to different several people, so on and so forth.

And I just sat there thinking that we, Christians, probably wouldn't even be able to give a list as long as that when we go into the KING OF KINGS' presence. It's just appalling isn't sometimes. New Year's a great time to make resolutions. But as for a challenge - Let us be really careful with what we have and what we do when we're in the King's presence, for he deserve our very very very very best. If anyone can do it for the Sultan, I'm confident in God's children that we'll be able to do the same for our real KING !

P.S: Our King of King is ALWAYS around us. Just a reminder =)

The Sixth Hour

As it turned three o' clock, the thick blanket of dark almost-black clouds enveloped the sky. One of my six-year old schoolmates asked my supervisor," Is it night time?". "No, it's only 3 o'clock" came the reply. It was a sight, alright !!

Shaun rushed to the window, with eyes wide open in disbelief that the sky could ever be so dark. It was indeed the one of the darkest DAYS I've seen in a long time. But yet, even in times like these we can transport back to another time where the sky was pitch dark at 3 o'clock. Can you remember ?

Yup, just as Jesus breathed his last breath and cried out a triumphant,"It is finished !!" - the earth was covered or rather the sun was covered and the earth was dark. The Bible describe the time of this event that it happened on the "sixth hour" - scientifically in modern-time, 3 o'clock.

I had the greatest privilege of being involved with the IBAYD ( Inter-Brethren Assemblies Youth Development) Drama Team during the "Easter" Period. We performed in PJ Gospel Hall on the 22 of March, Setapak Gospel Centre and Shah Alam Gospel Centre on the 23 of March itself. You could say it was my second "major" production- if you're counting my "oh so scary Christmas sketch" last year. It was a great learning experience. As most of you who know me- yes, I really did enjoy myself tremendously. I indeed learnt so much learning from people who have acted in productions before. Ann Choo, my Mission Team Supervisor at RBS, and Mun Wai also a great actor - in more ways than one. They both are part of a team called the FOOTSTOOL PLAYERS, led by Colin Kirton - who was one of the RBS staff too.

To check out their biodata click here. Ann Choo and Colin Kirton were involved in the recent Malaysian film,"Jarum Halus".

The production was called Condemned ,Broken and Risen. It contained 3 Acts. The first one being a monologue by 3 people of different viewpoints of the Resurrection, the second one was the "play-out" of the events building up to the death of Jesus and the third one being a mime from the song "I'm the Reason" written by Ng Wah Lok ( who also wrote songs like Everytime I pray and Approved in Every Way ). I cannot stress more on how much I have learnt about acting in the last 3-4 months, eventhough I act in church rather regularly. It's just amazing how much God can use dramas to impact people. It's such an amazing tool and the more I do it, the more I'm convicted it's one of the most effective tool God can use.

Well, that's that. The message of "real Easter"..
never fails to make an impact,
never never fails to refresh your faith,
never fails to show who Jesus really was and what he really did !!

Lotz of stuff..

It's been a real tough or should I say busy few weeks. I really cannot describe how many things have happened. I've been going through so many things too. But more importantly, God has been more and more real. Especially when things get tough and bad - it's just makes me happier. I suddenly find myself expecting pressure and thriving on it. Although it's never a good thing when you are having pressure, I don't know how to describe this feeling.

I've been learning to see the bigger picture in things and in situations. I've been leaning to see things beyond "the small things". And I feel more and more convicted about the things I believe I'm doing. I miss your testimonies. It really can give someone a great boost. As I said, I've really been going through some stuff that aren't all that pleasant.

In times like this, I remember some words Dad mentioned at one of our Worship meetings two weeks ago - before the church was about to praying for the country going into their 12th general elections : The fact is we DO NOT belong (to the world). That just sums it all up. Going through the Experiencing God Series has taught me one big thing : TO SEE THINGS GOD'S WAY !! and that about it. Our goal as Christians simply is to be like Christ and to make him known. And the only way for this to happen is TO KNOW HIM.

I am one who can stand up today and testify that even though I had a relationship with God before RBS. My post-RBS relationship with God has been renewed to one that is refreshed - as though it was given a new life. It's just amazing. And I think that's why there have been things in my way. I'm happy to take them on as I know that I holding someone's hand that can help me go through all these "small pitiful obstacles". I pray this post will be a great encouragement to you all especially those who probably might be facing some thing similar to me. I would like to hear some of your testimonies too - it's really encourage !!

When I went to Sunway Pyramid

the other day with the gang from RBS

I went ice-skating with some of them

I don't think I could've done it without anyone else

So happy I did it !!.. and without falling !!!

It was an accomplish, all right !! (so not me -if you know me)

But that's how it is, isn't it ?

Running all the way to heaven

is far from easy

You go through so many things

and may even sometimes fall

And eventhough you got the rhythm in your feet,

with a lot of encouragements from from your peers,

and you think you're doing the best you can

There's no reward waiting for you.

It's hard but fulfilling.

Just like ice-skating,

running well in the "Christian race"

has one reward only..

and that's the feat itself.

It's far more fulfilling than anything in the whole world!!

Words simply cannot describe how much I've been blessed in the last 5 weeks !!! I've been blessed through everything - the lectures, teachers, staff and especially my fellow students !! All my life never lived as I have in RBS - so great !! What a rich experience ! My RBS experience will forever be the experience closest to my heart. I found FRIENDS ( all 50 ) but of course some will forever be even closer !! Thanks to Uncle Dexter, ( Uncle ) Colin, Auntie May Lee, Rudi, Sabrina and Eu Bing for helping us and being there for us all the time !! My friends from RBS whom I sooooooooo LOVE !!! :

Christmas is a day to..

There were so many things that Christmas produced..
Highlighting it, it produced my first ever drama that I had to do.. ALONE..
with no other actors..
I was soooooo nervous..
Special thanks to all those who were there to teach and support me..
Uncle Roy and Uncle Jason.. and others..
So the drama went really well..
And the REAL message of Christmas was brought through..
Even though the actor/first speaker ( guess who )..
was almost a nervous wreck..
More importantly..
I believe many lives were touched and saved on that day..

Christmas Eve - well spent !!

On Christmas Eve..

I manage to have ( for the first time in a long long time )..
My whole God-family around..
I had a great day with them and a few other friends..
But I soooo enjoyed myself..
The highlight though, was that I came face to face..
with my God-nephew for the first time !!
I was thrilled to see him..
as I was the first one to carry him..
before he let anyone else !! Hahaha..

It was a blast as the whole of Klang Jaya Gospel Hall ( even the older adults of grandparents )dressed up for an evangelistic "International Nite" on MY BIRTHDAY !! Leaving School has never felt more relaxing.. It's been a tiring year and an extremely emotional "roller-coaster" kind of year.. especially for me.. So many ups.. then so many downs.. Hopefully next year would be a total change !!!!! - However , its always a sad thing when you know you're not going to school for 2 and a half months.. Our sad faces were hidden at Awards Nite.. as the following day was our last we experienced.. Emotions were flying high.. Happiness, Sadness ( even crying.. not the guys..) Huggs, Laughter, and all other kinds !! Here - our pics.. I'll Miss you all.. See You in February !!

A great conclusion for a really hectic month for Klang Jaya Gospel Hall - 'The Sound of Music' in collaboration with a baptism service of Auntie Vivien and Beatrice ( beat-rice.. ahaha !! ). So many great presentation and with a great "new look" for our beloved church !! What a fantastic night.. that's all I can say.. Thank You, Lord for a great and extremely fun night.. Really enjoyed every second of it..

Colin introduced this song to me in the last few days and the first time I heard it - I just though it was really applicable to me especially with all the latest things and all. Like him, I now am finding it hard to get it out of my head !! This was a song I was waiting for - one that told me that pleasing mere man in your trends and the "latest stuff" was not "all that". We don't need to be cool as long as our God loves us we're fine !! I've learnt to leave many things behind and strife for eternal goods.. like God's love !! God bless.

Home Alone 3.. (Day 4)

It was a bit hot but the fan was directly on me. So, I wasn't really bothered by the heat. Colin gave his bed up for me =) but at least if he slept on the floor, he couldn't fall off ! Hahaha.. He's going to kill me !! The Gan's took real good care of me , giving a feast of a breakfast - eggs, hot dogs, cereals, waffles, and a whole glass of Milo !! Then, went up-stairs back to their room, and right after our baths we left for 1 Utama. Ku Pa and Ku Ma went to Ikea and dropped Calvin, Colin and myself off at 1 Utama. The first thing we did when we got there is to go buy tickets for the musical "Hairspray". To say the movie was outrageously fantastically superb is an understatement. If I had a hundred hands I would give it a hundred and one thumbs up !! We got the tickets at about 1 o' clock and the movie was at 2:40 . So while waiting, we went to Dave's Deli to have our lunch and went straight into the theater after. Right after shaking all the goosebumps off from the movie, we went right in the bowling alley - where Colin and I won a game each and Calvin was improving every time !! It was just so amazing.. we almost did everything possible in 1 Utama. After that, we had Auntie Anne's pretzels - which Calvin was craving !! We bought some things though and met Ku Pa and Ku Ma for dinner at the Peranakan Place. By this time, I was sooooooooo sick, I WANTED Chinese tea !! Yuck !!.. But overall- I had a wonderful day and Dad, Mum and Rebekah was home !!

Home Alone 2 ( Day 2 & 3 )

DAY 2

After the rest woke up, we went on with our finishing touches to the creche and the store room. We pretty much spent the whole of the morning in church and only left about 3 or 4 P.M. Being really tired and all, we had to get ready for our COPA IBA REUNION 2007. I followed Colin and Calvin - who took over his first few games as official Teen Scene Games Co-ordinator !! Chong Keat great message and prepared a great activity to go with - helped by Angelina !! - about 3 people gave their lives to Jesus !! Then went back to catch the 1st half action of the England-Estonia match. Went back to my grandmother's house in the second half and watched the extremely pathetic performance in the 2nd half. In the end England won 3-0 - thanks to a goal by Shaun Wright-Phillips and Rooney each and an own goal by an Estonian defender. Slept at my Grandmother's place !!

DAY 3

Woke up early - went to church. Mr. William spoke - great and as usual funny though. After our worship, we had to go for guess what ?? SOME MORE PRACTICES - For the up-coming Evangelistic Gospel Rally - "Sound of Music" !!! So from then on it was all action packed for me !! We ended aaaalllll our practices by about 2 P.M. Less than half an hour later, Eugene came to fetch me to go play futsal. Right after I reached home from futsal, I got to finally spend about 4 hours at home. Grandma and Aunty Sue came with dinner that Grandma made.. And as sick as I was , I ATE 3 PLATEFULS OF IT !! Then, went over to the Gan's ( Kupa- Uncle Tian Eng, Ku Ma- Aunty Chooi Guat, and the two great nuts - Colin and Calvin.. Hahaha )Residence - they took me out for supper and I stuffed myself with 1 last Roti Canai even though I was super duper full !! I spent the night there and they offered to take me to 1 Utama the next morning !! - Thanks So much.. had a great time !!

Home Alone 1.. (Day 1)

It's been more than a wild experience being just left alone with the whole house to myself.. to say the least. Very briefly, My parents and Rebekah went for the Cheras Gospel Centre Family Camp held at the popular Shahzan Inn, Frazer's Hill - FOR 4 DAYS !!

So - right after school, Aunty Sue, fetched me from school back to my house - where a list of things to do was strategically placed for me to see.. Hahaha !!.. but Aunty Sue, my aunt, helped me do most of the things while I got ready to go to church about 4:30 P.M - to meet Uncle Reni on the work we were suppose to do in church that night. We went to buy paint, stationary, brushes, rollers, paint trays and some other things. We finished about 6:45 P.M. So, I had to get straight back to my grandmother's house to have dinner.

At 8, we left the house to go back to my house to pack my bag for the sleep-over we were supposed to have at church that night. Then, we went to Aunty May Hoe's place for B.I.G.- our cell group ( Bethany Impact Group ). Right after B.I.G. was over, Colin and I to church - where we waited for the rest ( Calvin, Jordan, Kel Sern, and Joel See ) to come. All showed up, and had a very tiring time trying to clear the store room upstrairs and giving the creche to what I say - one of the best make-overs the church has ever seen- Thanks to all the five guys !! So proud of the creche now !! The rest though were very sleepy - somehow I wasn't so I ended up working on the store room ( especially ) until about 5:30 A.M !! And I slept for almost two hours after telling Jordan ," Can you please find some tape ?.. I want to CLOSE MY EYES FOR 15 MINUTES !! " - Yeah right.. I ended up sleeping for almost 2 hours !!.. Hahaha.. so since I was the only to stay up until 5:30, I am the only one to be soooooooo sick right now -with the dust and paint odour. Will try to get pics of the creche and church as soon as possible !!

Hey people !! I'm very tired now and therefore just too lazy to write a long post. But School looks great after all the cleaning and arranging we had today. Really hope to get some pictures as soon as possible because it was.. i mean.. it IS very nice !! Hope the staff of GRC would be rather impressed by our very quaint-looking , cozy school !! Thank you for all my helpers ( Dev, Deborah, Sandra and those whom I left out ) who were pulling up a great surprise make-over for the store room ( you know what I mean *wink wink*) Hahaha..
